Cauliflower Wings

I am a huge fan of finding vegan alternatives to classic recipes, and this one is no exception. Inspired by Hot For Food, this is my recipe for BBQ Buffalo Cauliflower Wings. 

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 tsp of garlic powder
  • 2 tsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegan butter
  • barbecue sauce

Cut the head of cauliflower into smaller pieces. Preheat the oven to 450°F.

Whisk the first nine ingredients together in a large bowl until they are well mixed.     

Dip each piece into the batter and place on a pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through. 

To make the sauce, combine one part buffalo to two parts barbecue (to taste), totaling up to one cup. 

Melt the butter over the stove, then mix in the prepared sauce, removing the heat in the process. 
Coat the battered wings in the prepared sauce, then place back in the oven for another 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. 

Keep an eye on them, and when they are finished, enjoy! Serve your newest creation with your own variation of vegan ranch dip.
